Introduction

Salem Polyclinic initially commenced as a surgical nursing home under the stewardship of Dr K.N Rao in 1962. In appreciation of his service, the general public fondly starting calling this hospital “ K.N Rao hospital”. A year after the hospital was started, the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department was established by his wife Dr Padma Rao.

Over the years, the doctor couple provided compassionate and affordable health care services to all patients in need and the hospital began to grow and flourish under their care.

We, at Salem Polyclinic, believe that growing and keeping pace with times is the most important path correction for any forward moving institution of repute and hence, over the years, we have grown to become a multi speciality tertiary care hospital of repute ably headed by Dr Arun Rao and Dr Rashmi Rao.

Salem Polyclinic is an NABH accredited multispeciality 250 bedded hospital covering an array of specialities and super specialities with state of the art ICU services and a labour ward that can handle 25 deliveries simultaneously.

We treat up to 300 patients on a daily basis with our excellent outpatient and in patient services and we endeavor to provide compassionate health care services as envisioned by our founders for many more years to come.
